Miami Book Fair Panel at the Freedom Tower: Pepe Mar and Anastasia Kinigopoulo

Attend this free Miami Book Fair panel at the Freedom Tower’s Knight Skylight Gallery for a discussion on the exhibition monograph Pepe Mar: Dream House. The panel will feature artist Pepe Mar with the book’s creator and curator, Anastasia Kinigopoulo. The monograph, which accompanies the artist’s exhibition at the Currier Museum, places his practice within the history of artists who engaged with ephemera and found objects, from European surrealists such as Hannah Höch and Max Ernst to postwar personal archivists such as Jess, Betye Saar, and Joseph Cornell.

Pepe Mar’s Artangel is on view at the Freedom Tower inside the Kislak Center. The Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) commissioned the artist to create a new work in response to the Jay I. Kislak Collection, housed on the first floor of the Freedom Tower, as part of the Languages of Migration exhibition.

Anastasia Kinigopoulo is the curator of modern and contemporary art at the Currier Museum of Art in New Hampshire, where she curated Pepe Mar: Dream House and edited the accompanying catalog, published by Scala. Her current projects include Self-Made: A Century of Inventing Artists, the first group exhibition of self-taught artists in the Currier’s history, and the reinstallation of its permanent collection galleries.
